She was predeceased by: her parents, Anton Volhard and Clara Volhard (Skrzypchak); her stepfather Rueben Ahlquist; and her brother-in-law Fred Otto. She is survived by: her husband Tony Thurs; her children, David Thurs (Sue), Edgar, Connie Hanson (Brad), Tammy Anderson (Jim) and Jamie Koehler (Luke); her grandchildren, Caley Stahel (Jon), Tessa Thurs, Hannah Olson, Jaron Olson, Cole, Garrett Hanson, Jacee Anderson (Ben Kellner), Justin, Julia Anderson, Malana, Brooks and Taya Koehler; her great grandchildren, Kingstyn, Adley and Mick Stahel; and her sister Donna Otto (Eugene Stahel). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Jan's name.
