He was predeceased by: his parents, Orvin Knudtson and Margene Knudtson (Hageness); his grandparents, Charley Knudtson (Mary) and Otto Hageness (Selma); and his aunts and uncles, Minnie Johnson (Clarence), Elvina Helgeson (Joe), Milford Knudtson (Virginia), Ingwald Knudtson (Ann), Johnny Knudtson (Ethel), Helma Heath (Frank), Donald Hageness and Reuben Brown.

He is survived by: his siblings, Dan, Debbie Hong (Mike) and Cindy Skare (Jon); his aunts, Dorothy Hageness and Shirley Brown; his uncle Raymond Knudtson; his nieces, Sarah McIntosh (Jamey), Angie Meyers (Dave), Jessica Glumske (Zane) and Leah Hill (Darrel); and his nephew Luke Skare. He is also survived by 16 great-nieces and nephews, numerous other relatives and friends.
