Frank C. Brose Obituary

Frank C. Brose passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at the Care Partners Memory Care Facility in Eau Claire, WI, surrounded by his loving family.

Frank (Bubs) Brose was born on January 12, 1935, to Frank H. and Josephine Brose in La Crosse, WI. He graduated from Logan High School where he excelled in baseball as a catcher. He continued his love for the sport during his time in the Navy and most notably during his deployment in Italy.

After his time in the Navy, Frank attended the Engineering School in Milwaukee, WI and worked as a "gandy dancer" or track man for CB&Q Railroad, then as a brakeman and engineer for the CB&Q before it became the Burlington Northern Railroad. He advanced to a road foreman and then to train master until his retirement.

Frank married Joyce (Larson) Brose and together they had two wonderful sons, John and Scott. They later divorced. Frank married Carol Indrebo on March 5, 1995, and they were married for 28 years. Frank and Carol enjoyed retirement together in their RV travelling throughout the U.S. he was an avid Brewers and Packers fan and loved the game of golf. He was so proud of the fact he had gotten a hole in one, however, Carol always reminded him she had 2 holes in one, which humbled him a bit with a roll of his eyes!

During his retirement from the railroad, he drove for Ready Bus Line. Since he had a love for baseball, he enjoyed his time driving for the Jay Buckley Baseball tour groups. Frank also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in La Crosse and was a member of the Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge 347 of Eau Claire.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; stepsister, Juanita Streck; four stepbrothers, George, Henry (Hank), John and James Knebes.

Frank is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, John (Pam) Brose and Scott (Diane) Brose; stepdaughter, Ginger (Ron) Wilkinson; stepson, Scott (Susan) Indrebo; ten grandchildren, Jamie (Mike) Mullenbach, Tristan (Mike) Turner, John Jr. (Serenity) Brose, Krista (Jacob) Lillich, Andrew (Anya) Brose, Dan (Kendra) Van Slyke, Amy (Kyle) Olson, Molly (Ryan) Rosentreter, Chris (Stacy) Indrebo, and Nicholas (Amy) Indrebo; twenty-two great grandchildren; and a special nephew, Jack Knebes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, WI and the Eau Claire Masonic Lodge 347.

Our heartfelt thanks and appreciation goes out to the staff at Care Partners Assisted Living and Memory Care Facilities and the wonderful care provided from St. Croix Hospice. Also, thank you to Chaplain Steve for the beautiful prayer at the time of Frank's passing.
