Kenneth D. Shea Obituary

Kenneth D. Shea, 76, of Eagle, WI passed away peacefully on January 23, surrounded by family after a courageous fight with cancer.

Ken was born in Somerville, MA on August 23, 1946, and grew up in Waltham, MA. He graduated from Waltham High School in 1964 after winning the Massachusetts State Baseball Championship. After attending Northeastern University, he enlisted in the US Army in 1968 and ultimately became a counterintelligence Sergeant E5. The Army led Ken to Milwaukee where he met the love of his life. He married Ann in 1969 and they immediately moved to his post on Okinawa, Japan.

They returned to Milwaukee in 1971 to start their family and Ken took a job in the claims department at Badger State Mutual. Ken worked for the same company until his retirement in 2011 as VP of Claims.

In 1978, they moved to Eagle where they raised their two boys. Ken was active in his community, serving on the Eagle Village Board, the Eagle Volunteer Fire Department, St. Theresa's Parish Council, the Lion's Club, and American Legion.

Ken was a dedicated family man who enjoyed great music, great food, and a great book. He loved telling a great story and shouting answers to trivia questions across the room when it wasn't his turn. Ken enjoyed keeping his yard well-manicured and long days by his pool with Ann. He thoroughly enjoyed going to concerts, especially if his sons were playing. He was extremely proud of his family, who will miss him tremendously.

Ken was preceded in death by his father, Joseph, mother, Rita, brother, Billy Shea and his wife Lynne, and brother-in-law, John Feeney.

Ken leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Ann Shea, his sons Ryan (Lisa) Shea and Brendan (Molly) Shea and his grandson, Liam. He is further survived by his sister, Judy Feeney, brother Michael (Jean) Shea, sister, Mary Tortola, brother-in-law, Thomas (Mary Jane) Murray, and many nieces and nephews.

The Shea family would like to thank the nurses at Froedtert Hospital and everyone at Angel's Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc who took excellent care of Ken during a difficult time.
