He was predeceased by: his parents, George A. Bauer and Florence Bauer (Komro); and his brothers, George, Ralph and Jimmy Bauer (Lillian).

He is survived by: his former wife Lillian Lawrence; his wife Lori J. Nedland; his children, Dan Bauer (Amy) of Durand, Bob Bauer (Lisa) of Durand, Don Bauer (Bobbi) of Lake City, MN, Brenda Bauer of Greenwood, Lisa Streubing (Chris) of Maine, Lori Bauer (Steve "Scare") of Durand, Steve Kriese (Teresa) of Eleva, Tonya Prissel (Dale) of Mondovi, Chad Pickney of Chippewa Falls and Shaunna Tello (David) of Durand; and his siblings, Bernice Poeschel-Butzlaff, Mary Ellen Braden, Rosetta Swartout and Richard Bauer (Betty). He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
