He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Hilgendorf and Elsie Hilgendorf; his wife Carolyn; and his siblings, John, Burdette, Ralph (Kay) and Eunice Wahl.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Ann Montean (John) of Shakopee, MN, Marc Hilgendorf of San Diego, CA and Alex (Jennifer Lynn) of Madison, WI.; his grandchildren, Ben Montean (Kailee), Anders Montean and Maya Hilgendorf; his great grandchildren, Beau and Colt Montean; his brothers, Douglas Hilgendorf (Lin) and Joel Hilgendorf (Gail); and his siblings-in-law, JoAnne Hilgendorf and Nick Wahl.
