He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Nelson and Martha Nelson (Raduege); and his brother Gary. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Nelson (Patterson) of Dousman; his children, Susan Nelson (Kristofer Whitney) of Janesville, Ashley Curtis (Jacob) of Sullivan, Austin Novak (Jenniece VanDinter) of Fort Atkinson, Lynnae Sis (Christian) of West Alis and David Novak (Elizabeth Arden) of Cedarburg; his grandchildren, Gary McGriff, Grace McGriff, Brooke Curtis, Lillian Curtis, CeCe Sis and Andrew Sis; and his brother Sandy Nelson (Mari) of New York City. He is also survived by several other relatives and friends.
Memorials in Dave's honor may be made to his family to be used for the benefit of those who have suffered injury in a farming accident.
