He was predeceased by: his mother Karen Handel (Mickelson). He is survived by: his father Richard "Dick" Handel Sr.; his daughter Kennedy; his grandson Logan II; and his brothers, Jason (Krista) and Corey.

In lieu of plants and flowers, a memorial fund will be set up for Rick's Grandson Logan II for his future education.
