He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Ernzen and Mary Ernzen (Schmitz); his wife Mary Rose McGuire of Galena, IL.; his siblings, Alphonse Ernzen, Bernard Ernzen, Anna Brokish and Rosie Wegmueller; and his sister-in-law Sharon McGuire.

He is survived by: his son Daniel (Cathy); his granddaughters, Michelle and Elizabeth; his son Michael (Nancy); his grandchildren, Nicholas (Angelica), Patrick (Kimberly) and Savannah; his son Joseph (Cari); his grandsons, Kyle and Isaac; his daughter Sheila Scholz (Kurt); his granddaughters, Heather Kluck (Andy) and Heidi Woodward (Ben); his great grandchildren, Oliver, Ivy and Olivia; his siblings, Maleta Brokish (Carrol) and Nick (Nancy); and his brother-in-law Mike McGuire.
