She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Kerkenbush and Edna Kerkenbush (Schiffman); her husband Lawrence Kieler; her siblings, Alma Krepfle (Ralph), Sally Runde (Buck), Irvin Kerkenbush (Loma), Bob Kerkenbush (Helen) and Gene Kerkenbush (Tressa); her siblings-in-law, Catherine Loeffelholz (Vincent), Elizabeth Van De (Jerry), Louise Kieler, Susie Wedig, Sr. (Wallace), Joe Kieler (Mary) and Eddie Kieler (Berniece); her grandson Alec Kieler; and her great grandchildren, Griffin Tauke, Michael Clark and Cohen Backhaus.
She is survived by: her children, Jean Tauke (Gerry) of Dubuque, Cathy Pregler (Dennis) of Dubuque, Rose Silveira (Kevin) of Madison, Shirley Buss (Bill) of Platteville, Donna Kieler of Madison, Louis Kieler (Ann) of Platteville, George Kieler (Jackie) of Platteville and Ray Kieler (Maria) of Verona; and her grandchildren, Scott Tauke (Kelsey), Anna Pedretti (Kevin), Laura Pribyl (Rich), Eric Kieler (Leah), Ryan Kieler, Doug Kieler (Christina), Renee Clark (Matt), Brian Pregler (Jennifer), Lindsey Backhaus (Matt), Nathan Pregler (Lauren), Daniel Kieler, Katie Kieler (Adam Pfaller), Maddie Kieler (Carson Miller), Cami Kieler, Tori Kieler, Andre Silveira, Dominic Silveira, Tony Buss (Ashley) and Tami Chambers (Zach). She is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a Ruth M. Kieler Memorial Fund has been established.
