He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Schultz and Wilma Schultz (Miller); and his stepmother Lois Schultz (Immel). He is survived by: his wife Elaine Behrens; his sons, Jonathan Schultz (Alecia) of Dickeyville and Brian Schultz (Kelli) of Dickeyville; his siblings, Shirley Bentson of Hillsboro, OR, JoAnn Staino (Marc), Roxanne Rodden (Bobby) and Ronald Schultz of Iowa City, IA; and his stepsiblings, Barbara Gettle (Bob) of Coleta, IL, Roger Immel of Des Moines, IA and Joe Immel (Bird). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, a Richard A. Schultz Memorial Fund has been established.
