He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Helbing and Mildred Helbing (Wilke); his brother Wayne Helbing (Jane); and his granddaughter Autumn Buresh. He is survived by: his pets, Tiffy, Tootsie and Trixie; his wife Carol Klaas; his daughters, Tammy Meumann (Dan) of Albany, IL and Tracy Buresh (Jason) of Ely, IA; his grandchildren, Lily Meumann, Austin, Jayce and Trayce Buresh; and his siblings, Robert Helbing (Mary Kay) of Platteville, WI, John Helbing (Helen), Orlin Helbing (Judy) of Janesville, WI and Mary Klein (Alan) of Platteville, WI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of plants & flowers a Herbert L. Helbing Memorial Fund has been established.
