He was predeceased by: his parents, William Rottier and Mary Rottier (Turriff); and his wife Mary Jane Rottier (Liebergen). He is survived by: his close friend Terry Kitslaar; his children, Gary Rottier (Sue Boyea), Terry Rottier (Lynne), Karen Bloom (Anthony) and Charles Rottier (Tricia); his grandchildren, Mark, Michael, Abby, Colin Rottier, Garrett (Emily), Benjamin and Genessa Bloom (Shujahat); and his great grandchildren, Henry and Lily Bloom.
