He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Schlies and Marcella Schlies (Stodola); his parent-in-law Verona Arveson; his brother Theodore Schlies Jr; his brothers-in-law, David Browne, Daniel Selner, Dale Arveson and Chris McKelvey; his goddaughter Dawn Selner; his nephew Christopher Schlies; and his niece Kelly Schlies.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Arveson; his children, Darrin Schlies (Tammy), Steven Arveson, Aimee Alexander and Deanna Barkhaus (Brandon); his grandchildren, Lucius Alexander, Alana Lambert (William) and Connor Barkhaus; his great grandchildren, Mason, Gabriel and Baby Lambert; his siblings, Michael Schlies (Marilyn), Mary Browne, Christine Selner, Glen Schlies (Kelly), Theresa Nitka (Joel), Bernadette Fiala (Peter), Mark Schlies (Helen) and Pat Schlies; and his siblings-in-law, Dennis Arveson (Lori), Sue McKelvey (Don), Dean Arveson and Sherri Konkol (Kevin). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
