Denis C. Higgs Obituary
It is with heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of Denis Higgs, a beloved husband, father and friend, who left us on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the age of 91. Born in England, Denis enjoyed life to the fullest, bringing joy to those around him with his witty British sense of humor. He was known for his generous spirit and the immense joy he found in helping others, particularly during his annual trips to Haiti, where he devoted his time and skills to those in need. A carpenter by trade, Denis leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will forever be remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia Rose Higgs; his son Kevin Higgs (Kristie); his daughters Linda Rector and Karen Faretta; and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Bertha Higgs; his brother, Alec Higgs; his sister, Dorothy Rofkhar; and his granddaughter, Jamie Rose Faretta. May his spirit find peace and continue to inspire those he loved.
Visitation will be held from 4 PM until 7 PM on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home, 121 S Cross St, Oconomowoc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 1:00 PM at St. John Chrysostom Episcopal Church, 1111 N Genesee St, Delafield. Burial to follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude's are appreciated.
