He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Koester and Elnora Koester (Oldenhoff); and his siblings, Doris Hasslinger, Karen Weibel and Richard Koester.

He is survived by: his wife Carol V. Koester; his children, Cathleen Byrne (Patrick), Cheryl Johnson (Ross) and Michael Koester (Sue); his grandchildren, Megan Sandberg (Matthew), David Byrne (Carrie), Stephanie Koester (Kyle Darnick), Adam Koester (Megan), Ashley Rosales, Kendra Ensweiler (Luke) and Brady Johnson (Emily); his great grandchildren, Myles Rosales, Maycee Rosales and Lily Ensweiler; and his sisters, Beatrice Krueger and Phyllis Krahn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made in Clarence's name to Three Pillars in Dousman.
