He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Altenberger and Bertha Altenberger (Burgener); his wife Joan Bartosch (Wis); his son Steven Altenberger; and his sisters, Jean Slominski and Joyce Lang.
He is survived by: his children, Leah Martin (Mike), Harold J. Altenberger and Greg Altenberger (Cynthia); his grandchildren, Renee' Altenberger-Ebert (Chris), Rebecca Brown (Matthew), Amy Li (Robin), Michelle Acosta (Luis), Lisa Altenberger, Erica Martin, Allison Behrens (Nick), Jason Altenberger (Misty), Matthew Altenberger (Holly), Scott Altenberger (Michelle) and Troy Martin; his brothers, Ervin Altenberger (Barb) and James Altenberger (Fran); his brother-in-law John Slominski; his cousin Ernie Weisskopf; and his sister-in-law Ruth Bartosch. He is also survived by nephews and nieces; and many other friends.
