He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Gust of Deer Park; his children, Michael Mertz (Theresa) of Woodbury, MN and Kathryn Tarasewicz (Eric) of River Falls; his grandchildren, Joseph, Jonathan Tarasewicz, Harper and Hayden Mertz; his siblings, Douglas Mertz (Connie) of Eden Prairie, MN and Diane Peterson (Scott) of Highlands Ranch, CO; his brothers-in-law, Bob Gust (Karen) of Fond, Lac and Bill Gust of Mercer, WI; and his nieces and nephews, Kevin (Colene), Kris (Charlotte), Kory Mertz (Diana), Jason Peterson (Julie), Kari Carey (Dave), Stacy Gust-Braun (Steve) and Jodie Gust. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
