He was predeceased by: his parents, Moses Fayas and Elsie Fayas; his in-laws, Mike and Laura Mertens; his daughter-in-law Lori Fayas; his daughter Kathy Bristol; his siblings, Blanche (Emil Johnson), Gladys (Herbert Johnson), Pearl (Rasmus Johnson), Mark Fayas, Eldrid (Lorraine Fayas), Roy Peterson and David Roy; and his in-laws, Rita, Wallace LaGrave, Evelyn Mertens, Laverne, Quinton Roberts, Richard Kaye, Dolores, Maryann, Donald DeBriun and Irvin Mertens.
He is survived by: his wife Rosella Mertens; his sons-in-law, Jerry Bristol (Wanda), Steve Melhorn, Steve Fayas, Bryan, Lynn Fayas (Amy) and Scott Volltrauer; his grandchildren, Jared Siefert, Nikki Melhorn, Adam (Amanda Melhorn), Mandy Weatherex, Preston (Gera Fayas), Trevor (Casey Fayas), Alyssa (James Schulze), Chelsey (Maleaque Washington), Shannon (Jonathan Lord) and Joshua (Anna Volltrauer); his sister Audrey Roy; and his siblings-in-law, Marge Fayas, Marcella Kaye, Marvin (Charlotte Mertens) and Gene (Debbie Mertens). He is also survived by his wife of sixty-seven years. And four of five children and their spouses.
