He is survived by: his wife Kathy VerHaagh; his children, Paul Hermsen Jr. (Natalie), Troy Hermsen and Tammi Hermsen; his grandchildren, Cameron, Lexie and Connor; and his siblings, Judy Manci, Barbara Denisen, Suzanne Uher (Arthur), Lynn Gleason (Patrick), Georgiana Hietpas (Daniel), Lisa Piaskowski, Peter Hermsen, John Hermsen (Kathy) and Mark Hermsen. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
