He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Heiden and Rosella Vander Heiden (Micke); his siblings-in-law, Joan Vander Heiden and Dick Feldkamp; his nephew Jeff Feldkamp; his niece Sondra Feldkamp; and also, Leo and Lucille Feldkamp.
He is survived by: his former wife Delores Feldkamp; his wife Dee; his children, Steve, Sheryl Vander Heiden of Tualatin, OR, Randy, Becky Vander Heiden of Monona, WI, Vicki and Jim Jirschele; his grandchildren, Chase, Tyler Vander Heiden, Vaughn, Parks Vander Heiden, Ryan, Logan, Alex and Kaitlyn Jirschele; and his siblings, Beaty, Mel Baeten, Gene Vander Heiden, Jerry, Kitty Vander Heiden, Carol, Greg Verstegen, Lois and Gary Mignon. He is also survived by ses many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Mass at Prince of Peace Catholic Church and gathering to celebrate Merl's life will be announced at a later date because of the current Covid restrictions.
