He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schumacher and Harriet Schumacher (Kemps); his former wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Van Zeeland; his wife Rosella "Rosie" Verstegen (Du Frane); his son Paul; his granddaughter Carrie; his son-in-law Greg; and his siblings, Lorraine Smits and Harold Schumacher.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Schumacher (Lois), Michael Schumacher (Brenda), Susan Gage (James), Sally Schmidt (Thomas), Jean Schumacher, Carol Schumacher (Michael Jandrin) and Gregory Schumacher (Greta); his stepchildren, Richard Verstegen (Debra), Renee Wyngaard (Joseph), Regina Wildenberg (Michael), Roy Verstegen (Kathleen) and Ruth Verstegen (Patrick); his daughter-in-law Lisa Schumacher; his siblings, Clyde Schumacher (Joan), Myrtle Van Handel (Ivol), Carl Schumacher (Joan) and Joan Wollenberg (Virgil); and his parents-in-law, Janet Van Zeeland, Edward Du Frane, Agnes Schmolinski, Carol Hietpas and Delores Boudry. He is also survived by 45 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter.
