He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edgar and Dorothy (Smith); his brother Thomas Everett; his brother-in-law Richard Coates; his father-in-law Henry Stoecker; and his siblings-in-law, JoAnn and Tom Delazzari.
He is survived by: his wife Charlene; his daughters, Jennifer Van De (Patrick), Sandra Hankerson (James Sr) of Tampa, FL and Susan Planert (Eric) of De Pere; his grandchildren, Callista Woldt (Jordan), Logan, Blake Van De Hei, James Jr., Hannah Hankerson, Emilie, Lucas and Jack Planert; his siblings, Judy Coates and Steven Everett (Donna); his sister-in-law Kris Everett; his mother-in-law Jean Stoecker; and his siblings-in-law, Henry Stoecker (Diane) and Terry Conyers (Don). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
