He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Kempen and Clara Kempen (Gevers); his daughter Kathy; his granddaughter Hannah; his siblings, Gilbert, Raphael, Marvin (Olive), Norman (Gail), Rev. Gerald, Bernice Gevaert (Henry), Marie Jansen (Norbert), Elaine Deacon (Kenneth "Carol"), Adrian (Yvonne) and Johanna; and his brother-in-law Dan Polley.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Phillips (Pat); his children, Tom Kempen (Kerry), Kris Vande Hei (Rick), John Kempen (Dawn) and Ann Fabry (Keith); his son-in-law Joe Kempen; his grandchildren, Kelsey, Brenna, Megan (Jon), Cole, Matt, Garrett, Jason, Shane, Jacob (Emma), Ryan and Payton; his great grandchildren, Cain and Olivia; his sister Rose Ann Polley; and also Jerry Phillips (Gail). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family would be appreciated.
