He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Johnston and Helen Johnston (Spandet); and his daughter Christine Reed. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Sparr; his grandchildren, Jennifer Perttunen (Justin), Jaclyn VanDyk and Braden Reed; his siblings, Joe Johnston, Sheryle Carpenter, Barb Brown, Linda Kefi, Meta Linn and David Johnston; and his son-in-law Brady Reed. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
