He is survived by: his wife Jean A Hicks (Paxton); his sons, Roger (Washington D. C.), Rodney (Monroe), Terry (Shullsburg) and Tim (Shullsburg); his grandchildren, Marques (Monroe), Elizabeth (Darlington), Victoria Aaron (Shullsburg) and Jada (Kronenwetter); and his great grandchildren, Carson, Parker (Darlington), Arabella, Aurora (Monroe), Berlyn (Monfort), Owen, Rigley and Maegie (Monroe).

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in David's name.
