He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugo Meier and Helen Meier (Hellenbrand); his wife Marian J. Meier; his stepson Richard; his parents-in-law, Charles Campbell and Lena Funk (Keller); his brothers, William Meier and David Meier; and his brothers-in-law, Dale Funk and Dave Spahn.

He is survived by: his stepchildren, Teresa Schoenbeck (Frank), James Lord (Joan) and Terri Wipperfurth (Leroy); his grandchildren, Ian (Nichole), Lucas (Jennifer), Christina, Cassandra (Nick), Katie (Tyler), Jessica, Richard (Rachel), Pamella (Jeremy) and Nicolas; his siblings, James Meier (Bev), Lois Spahn and Roman Meier (Sandra); and his parents-in-law, Patricia Alt (Ronald), Charles Funk (Helen), Kathleen Lins, Cheryl Statz (Ronald) and Doris Mernack. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
