She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Peterson and Luella Dawdy Peterson Mjoness (Donald G. Smith); her son Donald Dean Smith; and her siblings, Mary Peterson, Merlin and Duane Peterson.
She is survived by: her husband Donald G. Smith; her children, Cheryl Smith of Dalton, Jeff of Phoenix, AZ and Jody (Michelle) of Montello; her sister Loretta Kaye Munter of Moorhead, MN; her cousin Sandy Parker of Mapelton, IA; and her sisters-in-law, Patricia Peterson of Nehawka, NE, Phyllis Farrell of Dalton and Shirley Fleith of Jamestown, ND. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the family for several memorials that will be established in Doris's name.
