It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Barbara J. Curwen of Custer, Wisconsin, born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, who passed away on February 4, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Emanuelson and Dorothy "Dot" Emanuelson (Sundstrom); her husband David Curwen; her daughter Evalee Kunkel; her sisters, Doris Stam (John), Elly Argel (Ray) and Pat Felsted (Don); and her granddaughter Katie Curwen.
She is survived by: her children, Lee, Lori Scott (David) of North Mankato, MN, Lynn Paulson of Custer, WI and Don Johnson of Orlando, FL; her sisters, Judith Jinkerson of Collingwood and Evie Guyer (Jim) of Whitewater, WI; her grandchildren, Brianna, Brandon, Heather, Scott, Jacob, Shaun, Robert, Marshall, Matt, Brittany, Mike, Seth, Emily, Megan, Josh, Dylan and Mackenzie; and also, Doug Curwen (Julie) of Almond, WI and Jennifer Szerlog (Mike) of Hansville, WA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
Barbara campaigned and collected donations in the effort to establish the original hospice program in central Wisconsin.
