He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Garling and Eda Garling (Lovaas); and his siblings, Richard, Robert Garling and Edith Krecker.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Frie; his daughters, Pam Johnson of New London, MN and Vickie Sullivan (Mike Miller) of Prairie Farm, WI; his grandchildren, Rebecca Langseth (Levi), Joseph Johnson (Allie), Michelle Johnson (Rylee Raddatz), Rachel Luehrs (Carter) and Thomas Sullivan (Ashley); his great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Isla, Riley, Eloise and Emma; and his sisters, Margaret Tutila and Bonnie Avery. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
