He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hecht and Genevieve Hecht (Boucher); his wife Rose Marie Hecht; his stepfather Joseph Jenkins; his siblings, Phyllis, Don, David, Robert, Gary and Cheryl; and his close friend Tom Schultz.
He is survived by: his stepdaughter Sandi McHenry (Mark) of Cumberland; his grandchildren, Jeff Bergstrom (Linda) and Dean Bergstrom (Pam); his great grandchildren, Hannah Nelson (Cory), Beau Bergstrom (Laura), Kyla Bergstrom (Kyle) and Kalley Paquette (Lyndon); his great great grandchildren, Ivin, Jack Nelson and Grayson Bergstrom; and his sister-in-law Yvonne Jenkins. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
