He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Ellis and Hilda Ellis (Feist); and his siblings, Ivanelle Udelhoven and Darrell Ellis. He is survived by: his wife Cecelia Joyce; his son Tim Ellis; his grandchildren, Arianna and Alexander; and his sisters, Arlene Ruskell of Cuba City, WI and Dianne Riechers (John) of Eau Claire, WI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
