He was predeceased by: his parents, Godfried and Maybelle Hofer Sr. (Baggs); his daughter Marlene; his son-in-law Dennis Gilbertson; and his siblings, Rosetta Engle (Harry), John "Stan" Duston (Rosemary), Toots Farry (John), Bob Duston (Beulah), Alice Bjorkland, Jack Hofer, Bud Hofer (Elleanor) and Ollie Roth (Art).
He is survived by: his wife Darlene G. Bauer; his children, Art Hofer (Dory) of Rewey, WI, Allen (Lisa) of Platteville, WI, Mary Hofer-Furlong (Shawn) of Cuba City, WI and Sarah Hofer of Windsor, WI; and his brother Fredrick Hofer of Cuba City, WI. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.
