He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Hofer and Maybelle Hofer Sr. (Baggs); his wife Edna Mae Humphrey; his son Edward F. Hofer; his close friend Hazel Hamaker; and his siblings, Rosetta Engle (Harry), John "Stan" Dustin (Rosemary), Toots Farrey (John), Bob Dustin (Beulah), Alice Bjorkland, Jack Hofer, Bud Hofer (Elleanor), Ollie Roth (Art) and Larry Hofer.
He is survived by: his son Frederick "Buddy" Hofer of Shullsburg, WI; his grandchildren, Phillip Hofer and Jena Leverton (Dennis); his sister-in-law Darlene Hofer of Cuba City, WI; and his close friend Betty Dellabella. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of plants & flowers a Frederick "Fritz" C. Hofer Memorial Fund has been established.
