He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas N. Banfield and Mary Ann Banfield (Sullivan); his siblings, Sylvester, Louis, Imelda Alt, Luella O'Neill and Catherine Weber; and his son-in-law Dewey Bockhop.
He is survived by: his wife Arlene J. Chapman; his children, Linda Whitt (Ron) of Slinger, WI, Julie Bockhop, Laura Johnson (Jeff), Jane Slaght (Ron), Ed Banfield (Pam) of Festus, MO and Bill Banfield (Mary Jo); his sister Mary "Beebe" McWilliams of Cuba City, WI; and his sister-in-law Janet Esch of Ridgeway, WI. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
