He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis McGinnis and Virginia McGinnis (Nagle); and his siblings, Tom McGinnis, Daniel McGinnis and Patricia Sievert.

He is survived by: his wife Alice McGinnis (Gleisner); his children, Michael McGinnis (Rose), Daniel McGinnis (Lauren Jensen), Timothy McGinnis and Veronica Devlin (James); and his grandchildren, Laura Wilkinson (Sam), Jennifer McGinnis, Anna Devlin, Jimmy Devlin and David Jensen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
