He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Brings and Eleanor Brings (Joyce); his parents-in-law, Katie Pings and Gene Pings; his brother Bob; and his brother-in-law Mitch Pings.
He is survived by: his wife Patty (Pings); his son Brian (Sarah); his grandchildren, Callie, Ava and Addison; his son Randy (Shine); his grandchildren, Noah, Brooklyn, Connor and Brayden; his pets, Sally and Zoey; his stepfather Joe Sukowatey; his stepmother-in-law Darlene Dederich; his siblings, Ruth, Sr., Judy, Janet Kurt (Larry), Mary Dremsa (John), Rose Schuchardt (Mike) and Kevin; and his siblings-in-law, Jacky, Pam Koenig (Kurt), Mike Pings (Julie) and Mark Pings (Mary). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.
Since 1989, when the American Red Cross first started keeping track of donations, Gordy gave 475 pints of blood.
