He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl P Buechner and Catherine Buechner (Hellenbrand); his wife Adella Hefty; his daughter Barbara Buechner-Ballweg; his son-in-law Robert Sutcliffe, Jr.; his grandson Mike Ripp; and his parents-in-law, Florian (Edith), Mary, Blondie, Tony Buechner (Elaine), Dolores Ripp (Jerome), Cyrilla Stephan (Gil), Betty Plendl, Francis and Lawrence Hefty.

He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Ripp (Dave), Mary Buechner and Janice Sutcliffe Lawler (Mike); his grandchildren, Kristine, Stacy and Sandie Sutcliffe; his children, Tami, Andy, Peter Ballweg (Ashley) and John Ripp (Katie); his great grandchildren, Bentley and Jackson Ballweg; his siblings, Charlie Buechner (Louise) and Rosie Johnson; and his son-in-law Jeff Ballweg. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
