He was predeceased by: his parents, Clare Newell and Luella Newell (Harvey); his wife Sally; his son Alex; his brothers, Kent Newell and Mark Newell; his nieces, Shawn Langwell and Michelle Miller; and his nephew Jon Ellis.
He is survived by: his daughter Ava Newell (Ken Bear); and his siblings-in-law, Liz Newell, Sandi Newell, Susan Miller (John) and Tom Ellis (Gayle). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
