He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Piantek and Mary Piantek (Van Kauwenbergh); his brother David Piantek; and his parents-in-law, Royce and Germaine Coppens.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Coppens; his sister Mary Nitka (Randy); and his siblings-in-law, Cathy Junion (Larry), Cliff Coppens (Joan) and Ken Coppens. He is also survived by six nephews and one niece.
