He was predeceased by: his parents, William Haack and Della Haack (Talaska); and his brother Mike Haack. He is survived by: his wife Kathy J. Johnson; his children, Laura Hammerel (Jay) and Gary Haack Jr. (Taylor); his grandson Peyton Hammerel; his brothers, Jeff Haack (Kerry) and Keith Grant; his sister-in-law Jill Haack; his niece Tarah Haack (Brad); his nephews, Weston Haack (Alexandra), Dylan Haack and Aaron Johnson; his great-nephews, Damien and Wyatt; and his great-niece Rosie.
