He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Arndt and MaryAnn Arndt (Suchomel); his brother John Arndt; his niece Chelsea Arndt; his goddaughter Nicki Arndt-Jones; his nephews, Steven Anderson and Chris Augustin; and his great-nephew Casey Jasper.

He is survived by: his siblings, Kenneth Arndt (Jeanne), Ronald Arndt (Connie), David Arndt (Vicki), Sharon Jasper (Delferd), Sandra Nelson (Robert), Bette Paulson (Jeffrey) and Julie Anderson (Allen); his sister-in-law Lori Arndt; and his pet Blanch.
