She was predeceased by: her parents, H. Darrel Fry and Lillian Fry (Marshall); and her husband James Gassen. She is survived by: her children, Julie Peterson (Patrick), Kari Samuel (Scott) and Richard Gassen (Joan); and her sister Bonnie Gilbertson. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; and 2 great- grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris's memory may be made to Carbone Cancer Center.
