He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Albert Schaller and Augusta Schaller (Riesop); his wife Mary Lynn; his children, Paul Sorenson (Angela), Barry Sorenson (Mona), Denis Sorenson (Krista) and Jodi Sampson (Greg); and his former wife Betty Johnson Schaller. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital or American Cancer Society.
