She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Hein and Ruth Hein (Marquardt); her husband Herbert "Onions" Salzwedel Jr.; her son Joel; and her brother Edwin Jr..

She is survived by: her close friend Jax; her daughter Dawn Larson of Minnesota; her sister Carol Smith (Rick) of Columbus; her niece Melany Bishofberger (Ron) of Fort Atkinson; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Rikki, Scott, Bobbi and Zeke. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church in Columbus.
