It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David H. Bates (Colfax, Wisconsin), born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, who passed away on May 10, 2019, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Bates and Olga Bates (Zich); his brother-in-law Tom Borofka; his mother-in-law Esther Anderson; and his granddaughter-in-law Dawn Barches.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his children, Jodi Scheidecker (Paul), Susan Bertsch (Ron Metzger), Elk Mound and Bradley Bates (Chris Rice); his great grandchildren, Michael Barches, Kayla, Braxton, Braydan, Serena Richardson (Tyler), Kylee, Avery, Kayden, Riley Scheidecker and Grant Scheidecker; his siblings, Beatrice Larson (Ted), Margaret Kerr (Clyde), Ernest Bates (Geri) of Colfax and Lee Bates (Mary) of Colfax; his siblings-in-law, Clarice Jutz (Robert), Nancy Lindstedt, Theresa Kuhn (Thomas), Eau Claire, Albert Anderson, Paul Anderson (Yvonne) and Ville Platte; and also Joyce Anderson.
