He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Helmich and Mamie Helmich (Belk); his former wife Mary; his siblings, Marjorie Farrell, Marilyn Helmich, Wallace "Bud" Helmich and Gene Helmich; and his pet Dolly.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Cooper; his children, Sam Helmich (Mary Kay), Ky Helmich (Marlys) and Carl Helmich; his grandchildren, Ria Arndt (Brian), Alisa McIntosh (Leon), Gabriel Helmich (Bethany), Kate Helmich (Chris Thomas), Sam Helmich (Alexa Earlywine), Tim Niedziela (Lori) and Nicole Lee; his great grandchildren, Raina Arndt, Colby, Colt, Maggie McIntosh, Ava, Ethan, Raphael Helmich, Ros, Ada Helmich, Genevieve, Connor Niedziela and Ryan Lee; his stepchildren, Lynia Ghormley (Greg Huff), Erin Austad (Bjorge) and Lisa DuWell; his stepgrandchildren, Frank DuWell, Minken Austad, Rebecca Austad, Ben Huff and Xander Huff; his stepgreat-grandson Kyler Huff; and his pet Max. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his trusty companion.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Peace Lutheran Church (101 N Wilson St, Cobb, WI 53526). A memorial service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
His contributions to the community and love for his family will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
