She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Niemuth and Adelia Niemuth (Boelter); her husband Donald Piehl; her daughter Patricia Rehberg (Piehl); her siblings, Don, Martin, James and Shirley Stern; and her siblings-in-law, Wayne Stern, Bernie Kitzinger, Roy Klarner, Sylvia Gripp, Myra Zellmer, Margaret Griffith and Jeanette Schlomer.
She is survived by: her children, Deann Piehl of Appleton, Jeff Piehl (Britt) of Marshall, WI and Shari Piehl; her grandchildren, Robert Piehl (Carley), Michael Piehl (Stephanie), Matthew Piehl and Abigail Rehberg; her great grandchild Liam Piehl; her siblings, Betty Klarner of Black Creek, WI and Roland Niemuth (Melba) of Richland, WA; and her sister-in-law Diane Niemuth of Little Chute, WI. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Virginia's name are preferred to the Humane Society.
