He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Steenbock and Gertrude "Gertie" Steenbock (Beyer); his sister Diane; and his brother-in-law Milon Kestner. He is survived by: his siblings, Sharon Kerstner, Gerald "Butch" Steenbock (Jane), Green Bay, Randy Steenbock (Diane) and Lorie Herrman (Jim).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to be directed to the family for a donation to various veteran charities.
