He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Ashenbrenner and Ethel Ashenbrenner (Salzman); his former wife Markay E. Shoemaker; his brothers, Gerald Ashenbrenner and David Ashenbrenner (Dorothy); and his stepdaughter Heather Hardison.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia; his children, Lynn Lohff (Jerry) of Elderon, James Ashenbrenner (Brenda) of Clintonville, Lisa Ashenbrenner of Tigerton and Lori Lohff of Tigerton; his siblings, Jeanette Konkol of Maribel, Shirley Marshek of Maribel, Julane Matz (Elroy) of Pickerel and Ronald Ashenbrenner (Joanne) of Wittenberg; and his sister-in-law Doris Ashenbrenner of Tigerton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
